Monique specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) which helps her clients to understand how their thoughts affect their emotions and behavior. Within this framework, she incorporates mindfulness techniques that emphasize being more present in one’s life and wellness to increase personal resilience. Monique has helped clients coping with depression, anxiety, LGBTQ concerns, and interpersonal difficulties. She works with adults, adolescents, and children over 6 by providing individual, couples, family, and group counseling. Her work includes ten years of experience with adolescents in education and in counseling and advocating for parents of children with disabilities. Monique teaches in the psychology department at LSUA and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in counseling. When not working, she enjoys being physically active and creative endeavors. She also spends time with her family and especially loves being with her grandchildren.
